  • No, the transfer company is independent and needs to  be paid directly.

Is there public transport that I can use to get to you?

  • No, we are not on any bus route. You need to use a taxi.

Are there car hire companies nearby?

  • Yes, the closest car hire compny is about 1km away.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

  • Yes, please contact us for the current rate.

Do you arrange transfers from the Gautrain?

  • Yes, please contact us for the current rate.

How far are you from the Gautrain?

  • We are less than 3km from the Sandton Gautrain station.

How far are you from OR Tambo Airport?

  • We are about  30km from OR Tambo airport.

How far are you from the Johannesburg CBD?

  • We are about 15km from the Johannesburg CBD.

  • Yes a full breakfast is included in the rate.

Can I have a rate excluding breakfast?

  • No, we do not have rates exclusive of breakfast.

Can I pay in foreign currency?

  • No, we only accept South African Rand

Can I pay by credit card?

  • Yes, we accept Visa, Master and American express.

Can I pay by bank transfer?

  • Yes, provided the bank has cleared the transaction before check in.


Is breakfast included in the rate?

  • Yes a full breakfast is included in the rate.

Do you serve dinner?

  • Yes, we serve dinner by prior arrangement.

Do you serve an al la carte menu?

  • No, we serve a set three course dinner.

Can I invite a friend or colleague to dinner?

  • Yes, but only by prior arrangement.

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

  • Yes, we can cater for vegetarian and halaal.
  • Please inform us of any allergies.

  • Morningside Clinic is about 1.5km away

What to Pack

Do I need an umbrella?

  • Yes, always have one with you.

When is your rainy season?

  • Gauteng has a summer rainfall and the Cape has a winter rainfall.

What clothes should I pack?

  • Pack clothes that you can wear in layers.
  • Always pack shorts and t-shirts for the warmer winter days.
  • Always pack warmer clothes for the evenings, even for the summer months. Winter evenings can get very cold.

Do I need sun screen?

  • Yes, in summer and winter you will burn, even when it is cloudy.

Are there mosquitoes in your area?

  • Yes, but they do not carry malaria. Check the other areas that you plan to visit if they are malaria areas. We do supply anti mosquito repellent in all rooms.


What is your smoking policy?

  • Due to the passing of the South African Tobacco Products Amendment Act, and the potential harmful effects of passive smoking, smoking is only allowed outdoors. In respect of the legislation, we kindly request all our guests to adhere to the non-smoking policy.


What time is your Check-in and Check-out time?

  • Check-in begins at 2pm. Early check-in by prior arrangement only.
  • Check-out is 10am.

Can we have an early check in?

  • If the room is available, we will try to accommodate an early check in.

Can we have a late check out?

  • Yes, if you book the room for an extra night.

May I leave my luggage with you while I tour around after check out?

  • Yes, by prior arrangement only.

Do you have family rooms?

  • No, all our rooms sleep a maximum of two.

Do you accept children?

  • Yes, but the children must be 8 years or older and they must be comfortable to sleep in their own room.

Do children have to pay?

  • Yes, children are charged the same rate as adults.

What size beds do you have in each room?

  • Rooms have one extra length queen size bed unless stated differently

How many beds are in each room?

  • All rooms only have one bed.

How many people can each room sleep?

  • Each room sleeps a maximum of two guests sharing one bed.

Do you have extra beds?

  • No, there are no extra beds available.

Can I bring my pet with me?

  • No, we have two dogs and one cat, so you cannot bring yours.

Do you offer hairdryers in your guestrooms?

  • Yes, all rooms have a hairdryer

Do you provide irons and ironing boards for use during my stay?

  • No, you need to hand your items into the laundry .
  • Unless you have booked the Fish Eagle suite, it has a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Do you have an onsite laundry  service?

  • Yes, we do.

 Do you have an iron available in the room?

  •  No, we do not.
  • You need to send your items to the laundry for washing and ironing.

Do you have connecting rooms?

  • Yes, we have one.

Are the rooms air conditioned?                

  • No, but the thatch provides good insulation.

Do you offer self-catering facilities?

  • Yes, the Fish Eagle and Martial Eagle suites are self-catering.


Do you host weddings?

  • No, we do not host weddings.

Do you have conferencing facilities?

  • Yes, we have a conference venue that seats a maximum of 20 delegates.

Do you have a fitness center?

  • No, but there is a gym nearby.

Do you offer room service?

  • No, our guests enjoy dining in the dining room.

Do you have a pool?

  • Yes, we have a salt chlorinated pool.

Is the pool heated?

  • No, the pool is not heated.

What is your cancellation/deposit policy?

  • Cancellation less than 48 hours, liable for the full rate.
  • Cancellation 3 – 14 days prior to arrival = 50% required.
  • Non-arrivals:  Liable for the full rate.

What is the deposit and payment policy?

  • We require a 50% deposit, a minimum of one night, to confirm bookings.

Does your hotel provide parking?

  • Yes, we have free on-site parking available.

Carbon footprint

Is Tladi Lodge Hotel trying to be Green?

  • Thatch still remains the most natural and eco-friendly roofing solution.
  • Take a dip in the salt chlorinated pool that is kept clean and hygienic with saline salt solution
  • The old inefficient fireplace has been replaced by a closed system fireplace, also referred to as a slow combustion fireplace, offering one of the most effective, environmentally-friendly, ways of heating a home.
  • In the kitchen are four bins to recycle glass, tin, plastic and paper.
  • Energy savings include keeping electricity usage down to a minimum through natural lighting and the use of energy saving light bulbs.
  • Five hot water geysers have been replaced with two heat pumps, with each heat pump only consuming about 30% of the electricity that one geyser would consume.
  • Eco friendly detergents are utilized.

Tladi Lodge Hotel is trying to do the right thing by being eco-friendly and decreasing our carbon footprint wherever possible.
